Ex-Anthropic staffer warns AI is 'gambling with our lives' on CNN; critics say whistleblower offered no specifics

Former Anthropic employee Jacob Coxon told Anderson Cooper on CNN that the AI industry is "gambling with our lives," with his biggest fear being AI used to make itself more intelligent, and said companies are "compelled to race toward building a deadly technology."
Reposting, sytelus pushed back: pressed by reporters on what exactly triggered his departure, Coxon consistently had no concrete answer, and his only proposed fix — a new international safety organization — is fundamentally infeasible, since some state actor will always believe it can safely achieve recursive self-improvement first, and there's no way to verify compliance like with nukes.
