brianmichel · x · 2026-09-11
Per TechCrunch, Automattic founder and CEO Matt Mullenweg was put on paid leave against his will by his board. In an all-employee Slack message, Mullenweg said CFO Mark Davies "conspired" with board members Ann Dunwoody, Toni Schneider, and Sue Decker to vote him out; Davies was voted interim CEO. Mullenweg says he received the resolution 50 minutes before the meeting and was denied time for independent legal review.
