Four things changed his mind: OAuth flows are now solid, Code Mode/scripting makes tool calls faster and cheaper, MCP Apps bring interactive UIs inline, and MCP adoption/reliability is now ubiquitous. He credits the launch of Rivet MCP, a tool that lets agents build, inspect, and manage agentic infrastructure (powered by Secure Exec) — a signal of how quickly the MCP ecosystem has matured.
