Open-source local AI note taker OpenWhispr crosses 100k downloads
appenz · x · 2026-09-11
OpenWhispr, an open-source, fully local AI note-taking app, has passed 100k downloads. It works with local models, accepts bring-your-own API keys, and also offers a cheap subscription. The team frames the project as a privacy stand: your ideas shouldn't be locked into proprietary walled gardens or used to train models — you should stay because a product is useful, not because your data is trapped there.
