Google Search AI Mode compares flavors and finds cafes; India matcha searches up 50%

Google Search's AI Mode can now compare drink flavors, point users to nearby cafes serving them, and offer live guidance while you brew at home.
Google also released a report on India's evolving drink culture:
- Matcha searches are still climbing, up 50% this year after peaking in 2025
- Ube and Hōjicha both hit all-time-high searches in 2026
- Telangana is driving the Ube wave; Delhi is obsessed with Hōjicha
- "Ube Matcha" became a breakout search this month
- Goa and Chandigarh are now top cities for matcha searches
