OpenAI met with top power companies to discuss grid security after rogue-agent hack disclosures
offgramercy · reddit · 2026-09-10
Per Politico, OpenAI began meeting representatives of multiple top power companies on July 20 to discuss electrical grid security, with Altman meeting utility executives at the Edison Electric Institute annual meeting in Colorado. The briefings started after Hugging Face announced an autonomous AI system hacked its servers and before OpenAI disclosed its own rogue agents perpetrated the attack; recent meetings partly address risks of such autonomous hacks.
