VC firm TLV Partners has published the "TLV AI 50," a list of 30 researchers and 20 founders it considers the most impactful Israelis in AI, spanning Weizmann, Technion, OpenAI, DeepMind, Meta, NVIDIA, and stealth startups, alongside notable papers from emerging researchers.
Key trends highlighted:
- Israel was largely absent from model-layer innovation until this year, when several Israeli "neolabs" emerged;
- Israel's strongest areas are AI security and computer vision: a cohort of AI-native, research-led companies is defining how AI systems are hardened and verified for large-scale deployment, unlike legacy top-down cyber firms;
- In vision, Israel hosts highly cited academic labs, Israelis hold key roles at major labs, and vision startups are forming.
