After watching many model launches, lab departures, and open-source releases, the author keeps seeing over-claiming: self-described "lead," "co-lead," and "core contributor" titles.
His view: in the LLM era an individual's role is often less significant than it used to be — much happens because of the team and platform behind them, and in many cases the work would happen regardless of whether a particular person is there.
Being honest about your own contributions matters, or it's easy to become an influencer rather than a builder. "Be real."
