Doubao Work adds local Office editing: edit Excel and PPT directly in chat
AlchainHust · x · 2026-09-10
The author hands-on tests two new generally available features of Doubao Work:
- Local Office editing: local Excel and PPT files can now be opened and edited directly inside Doubao Work, no more upload/download round trips. The workspace includes familiar tools like format painter, formula bar and sheet tabs, plus one-click handoff to desktop Excel; Word support is coming.
- Free switching of task execution environment: you can now toggle between local machine and cloud PC mid-conversation instead of starting a new chat.
The author's takeaway: AI is making Excel formulas and Office tricks no longer worth learning.
