Scobleizer: DeepSeek may have killed the default-to-Pro model strategy
Scobleizer · x · 2026-09-10
Robert Scoble shares a lengthy essay generated by his AI after reading a curated list of X discussions, arguing that DeepSeek has undermined the industry's default-to-Pro model strategy — with cheap, high-quality models available, automatically routing everyday tasks to expensive flagship models no longer makes sense.
He also passes along a practical tip: to get great content out of AI, feed it a highly curated set of lists to read rather than letting it roam free, and recommends his own AI-news list as a better way to keep up than the ForYou feed.
