AI safety researcher Jeff Ladish argues there are valid reasons to leave a lab building superintelligence — but also valid reasons to stay and study how increasingly powerful agents work, which the world desperately needs. He sees talent as too concentrated inside labs and would like more people joining CAISI, UK AISI, Redwood, Palisade, and similar external safety orgs.
