Former Google researcher Christian Szegedy argued that via Jevons paradox, AI will make mathematics far cheaper and deeper, turning it into even more fundamental infrastructure — no longer centered on human-posed conjectures but continuously postulated and extended.
Luca Ambrogioni countered that mathematics has been "externally sterile" since its formalization in the late 19th century, with minimal impact on science since, and doubts further normalization will change anything.
