Astra cracks articulated real2sim reconstruction from a few photos, researcher says

Researcher siyuanhuang95 notes that two months ago at an RSS workshop panel he argued general real2sim reconstruction remained unsolved, with articulated objects a major robotics bottleneck. Astra has now changed that: from just several input photos it can reconstruct vivid articulated scenes, potentially shifting the real2sim2real and agentic learning paradigm for robotics and humanoids.
