First US rare earth magnet plant in 40 years breaks ground, 7,000 tons/year

Chang Robotics president Kate McAfoose broke ground on USA Rare Earth's plant — the first US rare earth magnet factory in 40 years — in Blacksburg, South Carolina. The site will produce 7,000+ tons of magnets annually, with expansion projects targeting over 10,000 tons/year, covering 25%+ of national demand and shoring up the domestic robotic actuator supply chain.
