Simular to host CUA party at SF Tech Week debating if 2027 brings AGI for computer-use agents

Simular announced a computer-use agent (CUA) themed party on October 5 at 7pm during SF Tech Week, ahead of COLM 2026, hosted at a16z. Guests include people who built agents at OpenAI and DeepMind, plus researchers, investors, and founders.

The program features Simular founder Ang laying out the company's vision for CUA, followed by a panel on what breakthroughs are still needed in reasoning, memory, reliability, and autonomy; how cheap agents must get to run continuously at scale; whether agents will live in the cloud or on local machines; and whether 2027 could be the year CUA begins to resemble AGI. The post also notes Simular claims the highest score on OSWorld 2.0 at significantly lower cost, promoting its product Sai (sai.work).
