Dev's GPT-6 Astra bot beats Balatro's hardest Black Deck on Gold Stake twice
Attol8 · reddit · 2026-09-10
Developer Attol8 built a Balatro bot powered by GPT-6 Astra, using numerical tools to compute scores and evaluate plays. It has cleared the game's hardest, most notorious setup — Black Deck on Gold Stake — twice with verified runs, plus ridiculous scores at lower stakes.
The author is careful: full runs take a while, development had losses, and there's no reliable win-rate estimate yet. He notes such results weren't achievable with previous models.
A explainer video is on YouTube; code and run evidence are public on GitHub (Attol8/balatro-ai), with PRs and new runs welcome.
