What's new
VS Code 1.137 (released September 9, 2026) focuses on agent workflow improvements:
- Automations (preview): schedule recurring agent tasks hourly, daily or weekly, or run on demand
- Voice Mode (experimental): talk to an agent and interrupt or redirect it mid-task
- Continue quick chats: attach a project to an existing quick chat without losing context
- GitHub issues & PRs (experimental): review them directly in the Agents window without opening the repo
- Plus a VS Code documentary, a mascot naming contest, and GitHub Copilot Day livestream on September 10
Rolling out gradually; users can grab it via Check for Updates.
