Apple introduces Reference Image: digital watermarking to prove photos are real, not AI-generated

According to WSJ tech columnist Joanna Stern, Apple is introducing Apple Reference Image, a way of digitally watermarking photos to verify they were actually captured by a camera and not generated by AI. It's Apple's official answer to content authenticity amid the flood of AI-generated images.
