Dev builds wraparound 'Chess Cubed' in 4 days with GPT-6 Astra via Codex and MCP
digitalml · reddit · 2026-09-09
A developer turned his long-gestating 'Chess Cubed' idea — chess wrapped around all six faces of a cube, with four extra pawns per side and edge-crossing move rules — into a playable game in just 4 days using GPT-6 Astra in Codex.
The pipeline: Astra created 3D assets in Blender via MCP, built the web version in babylon.js, then ported to iOS/Android in Unreal Engine, also via MCP, with AI-generated music and sound effects. The game ships with CPU difficulty levels, full multiplayer with chat, and multiple skins. Astra on xHigh burned 110% of his $200 plan's weekly usage. Playable at playchesscubed.com.
