Back to markdown files after mem0 and supermemory failed as agent memory
Unique-Werewolf-2784 · reddit · 2026-09-09
The author tried mem0 and supermemory as memory layers for Claude Code and Codex, but dropped both: data sat in opaque third-party formats, debugging was impossible, and edits left duplicate stale entries. The working setup: one markdown file per topic, dated bullet facts, agent reads the file before acting — simple, controllable, but only viable for single-user use.
