Tailwind Labs Is Joining Shopify, With 110M+ Weekly Installs
jh3yy · x · 2026-09-09
Adam Wathan announced Tailwind Labs is joining Shopify. Nine years in, Tailwind is installed over 110 million times per week and powers UIs for ChatGPT, X, Cloudflare, Reddit, and Shopify itself. The move gives the framework a stable long-term home and lets it be developed in service of a real, complex product — merchant storefronts, the admin, the Shop app, and Shopify's agentic commerce explorations. Shopify was one of the first large companies to bet on Tailwind, where it's now a load-bearing part of the stack.
