Why I stopped fearing AI: the systems that could end us will also protect us
JoshuaJBouw · x · 2026-09-09
The author argues against fearing AI progress: the same systems that could pose risks will predominantly be the ones protecting us, as in every past technological revolution—from super worms and mass data exfiltration in the 80s/90s to the Y2K bug and industrialization. Humanity, he says, always overcomes challenges regardless of who is cast as the villain.
