FOSS Mac MCP server adds browser tab isolation, memory and delegated agents
bulutarkan · reddit · 2026-09-09
Developer bulutarkan open-sourced Mac MCP (MIT), a local macOS MCP server combining shell/file operations, Safari and Chrome automation, Accessibility control, persistent memory, Agent Skills, delegated OpenCode/Codex workers, and a native menu-bar dashboard. The standout detail is browser tab isolation: each tab gets a stable handle so agents can run parallel long tasks and inspect background tabs without stealing focus, making multi-step workflows far less brittle than coordinate-based automation. The dashboard is loopback-only, auth is optional, and dangerous tools are explicit. The author also demos attaching it to regular ChatGPT Chat for local agentic workflows.
