The 'Anthropic cured cancer' rumor hit 1M+ views; there's no paper, no trial, no source
johnseach · x · 2026-09-09
A single unsourced post claiming Anthropic found a 100%-success non-invasive cancer cure for humans, dogs and cats, to be revealed at IPO, racked up 1M+ views. Reality: no paper, no trial, no claim from Anthropic — just a $400M Coefficient Bio deal, Claude Science, and early protein-binder tooling. Amodei already walked back the slogan; Hubinger's >10% extinction-odds warning is real but unrelated. Treat as rumor until a trial, paper, or regulatory filing exists.
