Developer mohamedmansour released Omawhisper, an open-source local voice dictation tool for the Omarchy bar (Quickshell + Hyprland): hold Super+Alt+V, speak, release, and text lands at your cursor.
- Supports Whisper and Parakeet engines with one-click model downloads, CPU or NVIDIA GPU inference
- Fully local: no API key, no cloud
- Custom models/engines via compatible repositories, local weights, or command adapters
- Live mic meter on the bar; push-to-talk by default with optional toggle mode
- Needs PipeWire, wl-clipboard, Python, systemd user services; ships with an install.sh script
