Dev built a custom procedural drawing engine via Astra — all Evergrow art is drawn in code
Dimillian · x · 2026-09-09
When asked how he generated the sprites and assets for his game Evergrow, Dimillian revealed that Astra built a custom drawing engine, and every piece of art in the game is drawn procedurally in code — no image generation collage.
He also built a set of tools to browse and refine all the in-game art, making it easier to inspect and iterate on the procedurally drawn assets. An alternative playbook for solo game art production with AI.
