Researcher Who Worked at OpenAI and Anthropic Quits, Accuses Both Labs of Racing to Superintelligence

Jacob Coxon, a 27-year-old pretraining researcher who spent three years at both OpenAI and Anthropic, announced his resignation from Anthropic.
He publicly accused both labs of acting irresponsibly, saying they are racing straight toward self-improving superintelligence and "gambling with our lives," and promised to share more thoughts soon.
It adds to a growing list of researchers leaving frontier labs over safety concerns, likely intensifying the debate over the pace of the frontier AI race.
