CJR: journalists should stop hyping AI's supposed humanity — just say 'rogue'

A reposted Columbia Journalism Review piece, "AI Can't Really 'Go Rogue,'" argues that serious news institutions get so obsessed with AI possibly being human-like that they stop using words normally. The author's take: when an agent swarm takes actions its creators didn't ask for or want, just call it "rogue" — journalists should describe AI behavior in plain language instead of anthropomorphizing machines and amplifying hype about supposed machine humanity.
