Singapore, together with Cortical Labs, NUS Medicine and DayOne, has powered up an unusual computing prototype: a biological data center built on 20 CL1 units, each combining lab-grown human neurons with silicon hardware — living neural networks wired into digital infrastructure.

The author notes it is early and won't replace GPUs soon, but points toward hybrid systems where biology's learning efficiency meets silicon's speed and scalability, raising open questions around performance, ethics, energy, scalability, control and safety.
