Anthropic researcher: without AI, US GDP growth would be ~1%

Quintin Pope, a researcher at Anthropic, qualified his earlier claim that "AI is the reason we have an economy": without AI and associated investments, US GDP growth would be around 1% — not a total collapse.
He had argued the US has started multiple trade wars, lost a real war that triggered an energy crisis, and has no credible plan for controlling entitlement spending.
