Reporter Benjamin Riley surfaced a micro site Alpha School launched only after learning of his story: freshmen complete an 8-week "Bootcamp" of 18 real-world life skills (feedback, public speaking, problem-solving, independence), each with one objective test and unlimited retakes. The school says it levels the playing field and resets student expectations. Riley's earlier reporting also criticized practices like making students chase high follower counts on X, while founder Jesse Genet defends parents' right to choose this education.
