PyTorch launches Accelerator Integration WG to fix hardware fragmentation
PyTorch · x · 2026-09-09
At PyTorchCon China, PyTorch announced the TAC Accelerator Integration Working Group, aimed at tackling AI compute hardware heterogeneity—high adaptation costs and the lack of unified standards.
Open to hardware vendors and developers, the WG has delivered refined device-agnostic APIs and an expanded multi-backend test matrix, along with a roadmap toward an open, efficient heterogeneous computing ecosystem for PyTorch.
