GoatRemote Brings Siri Remote Voice + Trackpad Control to Linux, Running AI Locally in Under 0.6s

mayfer · x · 2026-09-09

Developer mayfer released GoatRemote for Linux, turning an Apple TV Siri Remote into an AI voice + trackpad remote for Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Omarchy — with a demo running omarchyTV on a Raspberry Pi. The tool distinguishes dictation from commands ("open a new tab in Chrome", "cd into downloads"), runs local AI models fully offline (only 2GB GPU memory on a base Mac Mini), and completes transcription + LLM interpretation in under 0.6s on an M3 Max. macOS supported too; beta early-access is $20 (reg. $40) with free updates forever.
