AWS is granting millions of students across 132 universities in 18 countries a free one-year subscription to Kiro, its spec-driven coding agent used internally by Siemens, Mondelēz and Amazon, with 1,000 credits per month and no credit card required. Piloted earlier this year with thousands of students building accessibility and healthcare apps, the program reflects AWS VP Deepak Singh's argument that AI lowers the barrier to building but doesn't replace the need for people who know what's worth making and when AI gets it right.
