2026 AI rollup market map grades 45 firms; none yet earns third-party-verified top marks

Caritas Venture Co. published a 2026 market map of AI rollups and AI-native private equity, reviewing 80+ owner-operators, acquisition platforms, and transformation firms and grading 45 on public evidence. Key findings:
- Grade A (third-party verified): only traditional PE firms Apollo and Vista Equity Partners qualify; no AI rollup makes the cut
- Grade B (company-reported): includes Beacon Software, Bending Spoons, Metropolis, Modus, Eudia, and The OpenAI Deployment Company, among others
- Categories also cover transformation partners (14), capital providers (3), and conventional PE benchmarks (8)
The methodology excludes demos, projected margins, and branded "AI OS" claims—demos and marketing don't count, only provable results. The map doubles as an options list for business owners weighing sale or AI transformation.
