Mintlify moves to outcome-based pricing, cuts automation bills by ~70%
handotdev · x · 2026-09-09
Mintlify has adopted outcome-based pricing: every AI action has a fixed price, customers pay only when a result is delivered, and the company absorbs underlying compute variability.
- 100% of costs can be forecasted in advance
- 96% of teams will spend less on the AI assistant
- Self-updating content costs 70% less on average
- All paid plans now include unlimited usage for the Editor agent and Slack agent
The team says the move follows a hard-learned lesson that usage pricing needs to be predictable and results-oriented.
