Even an OpenAI bankruptcy wouldn't stop the AI buildout — the GPUs just change hands
markjeffrey · x · 2026-09-09
RaoulGMI argues that if OpenAI went bust, the doomer "bubble pop" scenario wouldn't materialize: Google or Microsoft would simply buy all of its compute the next morning, ending up with double the GPUs and an unassailable lead. A bankruptcy would feed the buildout, not slow it — people confuse a financial event with the technology, since the infrastructure doesn't vanish, it changes hands. Mark Jeffrey endorses: "Nothing stops this trAIn."
