A November 2025 LEAP panel of AI experts and superforecasters estimated only a 10% chance that AI helps solve a Millennium Prize Problem by 2027. One expert cited the Clay Mathematics Institute president's June 2025 claim that "we're very far away from AI being able to say anything serious about any of those problems." The poster was himself a data point in the panel, giving a more optimistic forecast; his main reason for not betting 100% was that "human + minor AI" might solve one first. He jokes he was still too pessimistic, but not badly off.
