OpenAI ships ChatGPT Images 2.5 with 50% lower latency and consistent multi-edit workflow

OpenAI rolled out ChatGPT Images 2.5 to ChatGPT and Codex users across desktop, mobile, and web. New features: pinpoint a spot in an image and specify the edit; an edit toolbar with Markup, Comment, Remove BG, Erase, and Resize; each edit saved as a scrollable version. Latency is 50% lower, subject preservation from reference photos improved, and edits stay consistent across multiple changes—arguably the biggest commercial win.
