Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve 21.1 is being called a major update for agentic video editing. A developer's writeup argues that a video editing agent must close the loop from user intent to locating footage, making timeline changes, and inspecting the resulting video — and 21.1 gives agents much better tooling at each step, letting external AI agents actually manipulate the timeline and verify results.
