Ex-GDM researcher Josh Engels joins METR to work on alignment incident investigations

Former Google DeepMind researcher Josh Engels announced he is joining AI safety evals organization METR to work on alignment incident investigations.
He says his time at GDM was amazing, but in light of recent incidents, he wants to build up public evidence for misalignment risk and develop a better scientific understanding of model misbehavior.
