GPT-6 Astra plays chess well above 1800 ELO, says researcher after tests

MikePFrank reveals his GPT-6 Astra (Ultra) chess setup is just Codex with a few home-grown tools and skills, which he plans to open-source. He says Astra finished wiping the floor with the bot Wally with only 6 extra minutes, and given its new game engine and deliberation strategy plus generous time controls, Astra Ultra is 'definitely well above 1800 ELO'.
