Vercel's shuding released gpu-lexer, an experimental project that trains a small model to do syntax highlighting in the browser via WebGPU. It is only 27.5KB, runs on WebGPU, and is language-agnostic (the model guesses the syntax rather than relying on rules). shadcn shared it with amazement. Built for learning purposes.
