20-year IT veteran ships Train Tycoon game on Steam with Claude's help
maartendeblock · reddit · 2026-09-09
An IT veteran with 20+ years in webdev and automation credits Claude with reviving a dust-covered side project into his first actually-playable game: Whistle Stop, a Train Tycoon where you build a railway empire one hex at a time, haul wood, brick and smoked fish, grow towns, and dodge the Providential Bank's interest — playable solo or in co-op with one shared company and one shared bankruptcy.
A demo is live on Steam. The author says that after many dead side projects, this is the first one Claude helped him actually finish.
