AlphaGenome Atlas catalogs 2,500+ curated DNA regulatory motifs genome-wide
anshulkundaje · x · 2026-09-08
The AlphaGenome team, working with Julia Zeitlinger and Melanie Weilert at Stowers Research, cataloged over 2,500 recurrent DNA sequence motifs, manually curated them, and mapped their instances across the genome via the Atlas portal.
The work heavily used TF-MoDISco-lite, FiNeMo, and MotifCompendium from Anshul Kundaje's lab, enabling motif analysis across regulatory layers. An interactive Motif Compendium viewer supports coarse/granular clustering and importance/amount/fraction metrics per motif.
