Menlo Ventures announced Alex Kurland has joined as a Partner on its Inflection team, where he will lead the firm's growth-stage investing practice focused on AI-native companies across infrastructure, software, and fintech.
- Kurland brings over a decade of investing experience with deals including Clay, Datadog, DoorDash, Kalshi, OpenEvidence, Slack, Snowflake, and UiPath.
- Career path: Summit Partners → Kleiner Perkins Digital Growth Fund (under Mary Meeker) → full partner at Meritech before age 30.
- Menlo CEO Matt Murphy said Kurland had long been used as the archetype for the exact partner profile the firm wanted — so they recruited the person himself.
