Arm Unveils First Mali GPU With Built-In Neural Accelerator, 4x More Efficient Per Watt

At Arm Everywhere China 2026, Arm announced updates spanning phones, cloud and robotics:
Mobile: CSS for Mobile 2 with new C2 CPU clusters (AI performance up 1.7x, power down up to 38%, small language models up to 70% faster with doubled SME2). The first Mali GPU with a dedicated neural accelerator, Mali G2-Ultra, lets AI run inside the graphics pipeline—upsampling, frame generation and ray-tracing denoising—delivering up to 4x per-watt gains. NetEase, Tencent and Papergames titles are adopting neural super-sampling, and Unity China's engine will integrate it natively.
Cloud: Arm announced the production-ready AGICPU for agent workloads (used by OpenAI, Meta, Cloudflare, ByteDance's Volcano Engine for agent sandboxes) and Neoverse CSS N4 with up to 128 cores, LPDDR6 and PCIe Gen7, up to 2x performance. Cumulative Neoverse core deployments hit 1.5 billion, with the last 500M added in under a year.
Robotics: Arm proposed a Level 0–5 autonomy framework for robots akin to self-driving levels, each tied to latency, compute placement, power and safety requirements, and expanded its Total Design ecosystem to physical AI with 80+ partners, plus a joint AGI innovation center with Unigroup in China.
