GPT-6 Astra's 3D spatial understanding wows: assembling, rigging and animating models with Blender MCP + Tripo P2.0
sidahuj · x · 2026-09-08
Stefan3DAI says what shocked him most about GPT-6 Astra is its spatial understanding: given Blender MCP and Tripo P2.0, it generated optimized 3D models, assembled them into a scene (a house on a turtle's back), rigged and animated the characters.
His takeaways:
- Procedural object generation is fun but can't match dedicated 3D gen models on quality ("you don't ask GPT to draw with a pen when GPT Image exists"), and 3D gen is cheaper on tokens.
- Astra's real strength is scene assembly, spatial relations and rigging — the most annoying part of 3D work — where he has high hopes.
