Pushing back on the "AAA studios are cooked" take, the author notes 75% of EA's revenue is live services and other income, mostly from sports franchises with moats in licensing and entrenched player communities. GenAI makes assets cheaper, but indie games can't displace FC or Madden. Much of the money comes from moms playing Candy Crush and Xbox owners who only play FIFA.
