Tesla's VP of AI Ashok Elluswamy pushed back on critics who once insisted cameras alone couldn't make self-driving safe without radar and HD maps, arguing the core problem of autonomy is one of intelligence.
The retweet adds a first-principles take: since humans can drive with just vision and intelligence, AI with 360-degree vision, superhuman reaction time, and full attention on driving should drive 1000X better.
